| Directors' Notes |
Take three delightful, if eccentric ladies, mix in a sleepy English
village and maybe add a cup or two of tea, and you have the elements
for "Daisies," a droll comedy in the British style. Its
humor is sumtimes subtle, but often witty and perhaps new to American
experiences.
The story line draws reference to Guy Fawkes, who most British
schoolchildren know as the Catholic revolutionary who led an unsuccessful
plan to blow up King James I and Parliament on Nov 5, 1605. Today,
throughout Britain, the Gunpowder Plot is celebrated by hanging
Guy Fawkes in effigy every Nov 5.
We give special thanks to Pat Fleming, a Brit herself, who has
worked many hours with our actors polishing (we hope successfully)
their English and Cockney accents. Now we hope you enjoy our special
production of "Too Soon for Daisies."
